Founder, Maison Miru, Maison Miru
Trisha Okubo studied engineering at Stanford (undergrad an a masters - truly impressive), and then worked in tech in Silicon Valley before founding Maison Miru. Her engineering background was the basis for how she wanted her jewelry to work - creating systems of unisex jewelry that fit together like a modular system. Maison Miru has built a cult-like following (myself included).

My first purchase, and the earrings I can't live without. I truly never take these out of my second hole. They're just part of my body now.

“I put these in and forget about them for months. That's not an exaggeration."”
I found Maison Miru through an Instagram ad. The price point was a little more than I would typically spend on jewelry for myself, but because of my effortless style (because I don’t have the time to put in the effort), I bought a pair, put them in my second hole, and genuinely forgot they were there. Not for a day. For months. I feel naked without earrings but I can't sleep in traditional ones, so I'd spent years doing this nightly back-and-forth. Another thing - they've never irritated my skin, never discolored, never given me a reason to take them out. When I was pregnant, even my wedding ring started irritating my skin but my Maison Miru earrings were completely fine. That told me everything I needed to know about the materials. I'm low key with my style, but I know what I like, and what I like is jewelry I never have to think about that somehow still looks intentional, and that’s what I found in Maison Miru.
