A female founded brand was started by a woman who retains meaningful operational and creative control. We only feature founders who are still actively leading their company, and try to stay away from brands that have been acquired or where the founder has stepped away from day-to-day leadership.
Are female founded brands better quality?
From the research I've done so far, I feel like the real differentiator for female founded brands is that many of them are started to solve a problem that they can't find a solution to. I don't want to discredit all of the amazing women work on brands and develop products for brands not founded by women. I want to lift everyone up everywhere until we have real equality.

We've started by featuring female founded brands who's products we actually use. Especially as it pertains to skincare, these brands were founded to solve problems that we really have. We also love to feature brands with amazing stories, and aspirational brands we'd love to buy from one day.
