Shiza Shahid co-founded Our Place because of the feeling cooking and sharing food evokes, and creates belonging, especially as an immigrant building a chosen family in America. The brand was born from the belief that a well-designed kitchen, with the right tools around it, can hold everyone. Our Place's mission goes beyond cookware; it works with women-owned manufacturing collectives, donates to systems-based causes, and celebrates the food traditions of BIPOC and underrepresented communities through its Traditionware® collections. While Shiza's co-founder is her husband, they are truly standing behind their beliefs, and it's something to be admired.

I came to Our Place the way most people do... through the pan. The Always Pan was everywhere. The colors really caught my attention. When I finally got one, I was annoyed I didn't get it sooner. I don't know what hold "black nonstick pans" had on me, but I wasn't convinced anything different could be nonstick. I was pleasantly surprised. It does a whole bunch of things other then just being non-stick, but I'm notoriously terrible at using kitchen gadgets past what I need. I think if you had limited storage, all the other functions of this pan would be a game changer for your kitchen. I love the foundation of this brand that food can bring people together. I absolutely love cooking for my friends and family, and love sharing moments over a good meal.
